About us
Human Benefit Services (HBS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promote and develop superior quality health care and educational facilities in rural areas. Our efforts have been concentrated on finding long-term solutions to these needs in Rajasthan, an under- developed State in Western India. Rajasthan is amongst the most impoverished areas of India with unacceptable levels of mortality rate and high prevalence of preventable diseases. Literacy rate in this region is amongst the lowest in all of India. It is a region in need. Phalodi, the desert region and now a district of Jodhpur, is known for its salt production and for its importance as the seasonal abode of the migrating Demoiselle cranes of Euro Siberia at Khichan. Phalodi is surrounded by Bikaner (175kms), Jaisalmer (160kms), Nagaur (150kms) and Jodhpur (140kms). .
Our Mission
To promote self-sustainable development of education and health care infrastructure in rural Rajasthan’s Khichan-Phalodi region. Our focus will remain on this region’s need for development. HBS believes that education is the foundation for the progress of any community. At the same time, no community can expect to grow without access to adequate health care.
Education
- To develop rural schools at par with those in more developed areas
- To provide comprehensive adult vocational and technical education
- To bring technology to residents of under-developed areas
Health Care
- To provide basic health care to rural populations in under-served areas of Rajasthan
- To encourage rural communities towards proper sanitation and hygiene
- To promote pre-emptive medical care for the prevention of the spread of infectious disease and provide community health education (including family planning).
